SR LONG TIAN CHEK is the Group Managing Director of Henry Butcher Malaysia, having founded the company and established its first office in Kuala Lumpur in 1987.

He is:

• a Chartered Surveyor
• a Member of RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
• a Fellow of RISM (Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia)
• a Member of PEPS (Association of Valuers & Property Consultants in Private Practice Malaysia (PEPS)
• a Registered Valuer, Auctioneer & Estate Agent with The Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers (BOVAEP).

He has more than 40 years experience in the real estate industry having first started in the public sector before joining a local private firm of professional surveyors.

He has conducted valuation for various purposes and among them were major corporate exercises such as the valuation of Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC), asset valuation for IGB Bhd and for compliant submissions to Bursa Malaysia.

He also acted as a peer reviewer for major valuation exercises such as the valuation of Eco Grandeur in Puncak Alam, Tropicana City Mall & Office Tower and ECM Libra (Hotel Valuation). On many occasions, he was appointed a Court Assessor in the High Court of Malaya where he has advised in land acquisition cases for compensation payable.

He is a graduate in Urban Estate Management from the University of Westminster (formerly known as Polytechnic of Central London).
